Former Liverpool forward Jordon Ibe sends message after finding new club

A former Liverpool prospect, who broke into the first team at the same time as Raheem Sterling, is treading a new path for himself in Turkish football.

Jordon Ibe left Anfield for Bournemouth for £15million in the summer of 2016, after making 58 appearances and scoring four goals for the Merseyside club.

But after involvement in a number of off-field incidents, including being handed a driving ban, the attacking forward then moved onto Derby County in 2020 when his Cherries contract expired.

However, despite residing at Pride Park for a season and a half, Ibe only made one appearance for the Rams and revealed that he had been battling with mental health problems.

Now 26, the Southwark-born winger, who once won Man of the Match in a Merseyside Derby, is making a fresh start in Turkish football.

Last month, Ibe signed a three and a half year contract with Adanaspor of the TFF First League, in the second tier of Turkish football.

And yesterday he took to his Instagram account to share a photo of himself training in Turkey with the caption "New beginnings. God guide me".

Adanaspor currently lie ninth in the TFF First League.

It remains to be seen if Ibe will return to the cut and thrust of English football, but for now his future lies in Turkey with a new club and a new start.
