Former Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has been tipped to become the USMNT head coach in what would be his first managerial position following his departure from Elland Road in February 2022.
Bielsa looked set to replace Frank Lampard at Everton after the Toffees parted ways with the former Chelsea man. The Merseyside club are languishing in 19th in the Premier League and reports had heavily linked the Argentine with a move to Goodison Park as the ex-Argentina boss flew into England for talks.
However, Sean Dyche now looks set to replace Lampard with reports suggesting that an announcement by the club will be made imminently. It means that the wait to return to the Premier League continues for Bielsa after his typically leftfield reported proposal of taking charge of Everton's under-21s side until the end of the season before taking over the first team in the summer, was turned down.

The former Leeds head coach may well have had his own concerns about the squad and infrastructure in place at the club, yet Whites fans sadly will not see the much-beloved Bielsa back at Elland Road for this season at least. However, recent reports have now emerged that suggest he is ready to end his near 12-month hiatus from management.
According to Telemundo (via CBS Sports Golazo ), Bielsa is being 'considered' for the current vacant managerial role with the USMNT. Former head coach Gregg Berhalter's contract with the US national team came to an end after the 2022 World Cup and interim coach Anthony Hudson appears to only be a stop-gap until they can find a suitable long-term replacement.
Leeds itself has multiple connections with the States. Jesse Marsch, Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson are all American, while 49ers Enterprises - the investment arm of the San Francisco 49ers - own a minority share of the club.
Bielsa could well be the next link between club and country and may well be coaching Adams and Aaronson in the near future.
