Former Los Angeles city councilman and state Sen. Nate Holden revealed that he was the individual who accompanied former President Donald Trump in a helicopter ride that experienced an emergency landing. This revelation contradicts Trump's previous statement that it was former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown who was with him during the incident.
Holden clarified the mix-up by humorously pointing out the physical differences between himself and Brown, stating, 'Willie is the short Black guy living in San Francisco. I'm a tall Black guy living in Los Angeles.' He further quipped, 'I guess we all look alike.'
Trump had initially informed reporters at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida about the helicopter emergency landing involving Brown. However, Brown promptly refuted Trump's account, asserting that he had never been in a helicopter with the former President.
Interestingly, Trump had previously mentioned the incident in one of his books, describing it as 'a little scary for both of us.' His campaign spokesperson later reiterated this account in a social media post.
Holden disclosed that he had been in communication with Trump's team in the 1990s regarding a development project at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, which fell within Holden's jurisdiction at the time.
