Former Kincora Boys Home demolition begins in East Belfast

East Belfast

Demolition work has begun on the former Kincora Boys Home in East Belfast.

Work to take down the former boys home on the Newtownards Road, which was the venue for years of barbic abuse is now underway as contractors have appeared at the site.

Earlier this year plans were approved by Belfast City Council Planning Committee for the building to be demolished and replaced with nine new apartments.
