Former Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer wants to head back to being a studio analyst for Fox Sports pre-game show after flaming out spectacularly in his first year as an NFL head coach. Meyer became the Jaguars’ head coach last offseason and only lasted 13 games due to poor performance on the field and a myriad of scandals.
Meyer went on The Tim May Podcast to discuss the passing of former Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins and what he wants to do next after coaching the Jags.
“Well that’s all still in conversation,” he said. “I love Fox, I love their team and their guys. There’s nothing been finalized yet, but yeah, I plan on going back and doing that. I really enjoyed that.”
Meyer added that he loved celebrating college football and recognizing the special players and coaches involved in it.
It’s probably for the best if Meyer sticks to being a studio analyst for now. Most college football programs probably don’t want to go anywhere near Meyer since his disastrous stint with Jacksonville is so fresh. Down the line, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a program take a chance on Meyer because of the three national championships he won with the Buckeyes and Florida Gators.
