Former ITV Emmerdale star Adam Thomas has people 'spitting drinks out' as he shows off stunning talent

Adam Thomas has completely stunned his social media followers as he shared a video showing off his stunning talent. The former Emmerdale star showed off his unexpected vocals in a video posted to his Instagram grid - and it actually came with a good reason.

The actor, who played Adam Barton in the ITV soap from 2009 to 2018, was inspired after hearing a song on the radio and found out that the artist was going on tour. Unfortunately, when Adam rushed to get tickets he discovered they were sold out but he decided to use his star power.

"I have been singing this song all morning," a smiling Adam said as he was seen in his new family home in a blue t-shirt under a knitted waistcoat, jeans and a white and blue baseball cap.

As a particular song played in the background, the 34-year-old continued: "Now I'm about to sing it for you guys. Don't worry, I'm just going to sing the chorus," he laughed.

The former soap star then explained why he was singing for his thousands of followers: "To cut a long story short, this song came on the other day while I was in the car and you know when a song just gets you? This song got me!

"I didn't know what the song was called, I didn't know who the artist was. I didn't know anything about it! So I looked him up and it turns out he's coming to Manchester at the end of the month."

As already mentioned, when Adam went to purchase some tickets, they were sold out so he took another route. "I slid into the guy's DMs and he got back to me. Not only did he get back to me, he put my name down on the guest list and also, a plus one." In an attempt to give back, the former I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here campmate said if his followers could guess the artist and song, he'd take them to the gig with him."

Adam then belted out the track, which we won't give away in case you want to guess it for yourself, and ended up blowing his celebrity pals away. Twin brother Scott was among the first to respond, writing: "The voice on the boy."

TV presenter and This Morning's fashion expert Lisa Snowdon said: "Go on Adam! The boy can SING!" Strictly star, singer, singer and Hits Radio host Fleur East commented: "Wooooo!!!! Yes Adam! That voice! Always said you were a secret singer." Former Gogglebox star and I'm A Celeb winner Scarlett Moffatt wrote: "Wow Adam your voice is beautiful."

Actress Angela Griffin, who will be starring opposite Adam in the brand new Waterloo Road posted: "Omg," before adding: "Where did THAT voice come from???!!! Honestly Adam. You are amaze." Personal trainer Cecilia Harris, who works with Adam's sister-in-law Lucy Mecklenburgh, added: "Wow. I just spat my drink out. Adam I did not know you could sing. Well done you."

And fans were also rushing to add their guesses and well as their comments. @ebarmby said: "Absolutely love this Adam! You should be on The Voice!!" @t123ggr wrote: "What a cover @adamthomas21." @adamthomaasfan commented: "THAT VOICE THOUGH >>> to die for." @robynlimb posted: "No disrespect [to the artis] but @adamthomas21 has just aced your half a man chorus there!!! B E A U tiful Adam!! Triple threat you pal!!!"

Adam is returning to Waterloo Road (PA)

As mentioned, Adam will be back on our screens soon in the return of Waterloo Road. Fans of the BBC series will remember Adam for playing the original bad boy, Donte Charles. His character didn't have the easiest of times, including causing the death of his best friend Adam Deardon.

Realising the error of his ways, Donte soon embarked on a relationship with Chlo Grainger which saw them get married. And the good news is that Adam is returning to the show, which is being filmed in Greater Manchester, alongside Katie Griffiths, who plays Chlo, and they have their daughter in tow.

It was revealed that their daughter, Izzy, who they left with during series four in 2009, will actually be played by Adam's real-life niece. Scarlett Thomas has bagged her first major TV role and is following in her parent's footsteps who just so happen to be Coronation Street stars Ryan Thomas and Tina O'Brien.
