Congratulations are in order as Lucy Fallon has shared the joyful news that she's pregnant. The former Coronation Street star has revealed she's expecting her first child with boyfriend Ryan Ledson.
Lucy, who played Bethany in the ITV soap from 2015 to 2020, went public with her Preston North End footballer beau in June last year. It was reported they met through fellow soap star Helen Flanagan's fiance Scott Sinclair who also played for The Lilywhites. However, love blossomed for the couple during lockdown after they met on celebrity dating app Raya,
It came after Lucy split from her boyfriend of four years Tom Leech last summer. And now the 26-year-old has announced the news to OK! Magazine that they're set to become parents, revealing that she has been keeping the news a secret for five months.
"It feels a lot more real now," Lucy, from Blackpool, told the magazine while showing off her baby bump for the first time in a series of dramatic tulle dresses. “I don’t think I look that pregnant at the moment, just like I’ve had a lot of KFC!” she admitted.
Lucy and Ryan, who live in West Lancashire, took their Pomeranian pup Sushi along to help making their big announcement with the pair posing with Sushi, who is wearing a cute heart around her neck reading, "We’ve been keeping a secret!"
Ryan said the couple are "really excited" and their happy news comes after Lucy suffered a tragic miscarriage back in March. The pair had gone for a private scan when Lucy was seven weeks for some early reassurance after the news came as a “massive shock and surprise”, but after being referred to hospital they were dealt the devastating blow that Lucy had miscarried.
!It was a traumatising, horrendous time,” she told OK!. !We went for a scan and they couldn’t see anything, so then we went to the hospital and they thought they could see something, so it was very up and down."
She explained how she was experiencing classic pregnancy symptoms which were "getting worse". there were no signs I had had a miscarriage, so that made it more of a shock," Lucy, who then underwent surgery, said.
But Lucy and Ryan are now looking to the future after their devastating experience with their bundle of joy due on February 2, 2023. "We’re very fortunate that it happened again for us," Lucy, who took a pregnancy test while on a trip to the Maldives, said. "We weren’t putting pressure on it and I was trying not to put pressure on myself and then it just ended up happening that way for us. It was obviously just meant to happen."
Lucy and Ryan put on a loved-up display last week while attending a charity event for Football For Change in Manchester. Lucy looked stunning in a strapless, layered mini dress which showed off her long tanned legs. She added a pop of colour to her look with a pair of bright pink heels which stood out thanks to a huge bow detail on the back.
The former soap star accessorised her look with a black YSL clutch bag and gold jewellery as she posed for the waiting cameras. She was then joined for a few snaps by her man. Ryan, who plays for Preston North End, kept it simple but classy as he donned a black suit and tie over a white shirt
