Plans have been put forward to transform a popular old vegetarian restaurant into the location for a posh new dental spa.
Formerly known as Hendersons, the basement eatery had been an iconic staple of the city's food scene before the family business announced their closure during the pandemic.
Although the family have since reopened a new cafe near Bruntsfield, the old site on Thistle Street has remained vacant ever since. However, plans have now been suggested for the unit to get an entirely new use as a dental spa.

Submitted by Cherrybank Dental Spa, the private dentist had been located at Dundas Street, but is hoping to set up their new premises further into the city centre.
Applying for permission for a change of use, proposals detail how the business will not only have dental treatment rooms, but calming spaces for patients to relax before their appointments.
Boasting a 'pain-free treatment' guarantee, the business has applied to create nine surgery rooms, as well as two consultation spaces, a large waiting room and further staff facilities.
Speaking in the design statement, architects the Little Black Box Collective said: "The existing basement unit at 94 Hanover street is part of a larger 2-4 storey block over basement which is Grade B Listed, and located within the New Town Conservation Area.
"The unit itself has been unoccupied for a minimum of two years. The unit encompasses the basement area of three no buildings on varying finished floor levels and has been redeveloped in a presumable piecemeal fashion which result sin a confusing, awkward, internal layout with relatively low ceiling heights.
"Few characteristics of the original historic fabric remain internally. The main entrance to the building located at 94 Hanover Street is in need of upgrades visually and suffers from poor accessibility at present.
"It is proposed that a new dental practice with 9 no. surgeries is accomodated in the basement unit, this will include reception and waiting spaces as well as clinical support and staff spaces.
"The dental practice will accommodate both new and existing patients and is intended to have an open, relaxing atmosphere. We have provided an outline of the practice operation and ethos, as well as the spaces required for the practice to operate."
