Former Hollyoaks star Gary Lucy has claimed he has 'nine lives' after appearing to be involved in a car crash on Boxing Day. The actor, who played Luke Morgan in the Channel 4 soap up until his exit earlier this year, took to Instagram where he shared shocking pictures of the wreckage.
He posted two pictures of the Range Rover on his Instagram story. Alongside the first Gary, 41, wrote: "Someone was watching over me today," as it showed the front wheels of his car missing.
The second image showed the head-on damage to the vehicle, with the bonnet of the car crushed. "Gary 9 lives," he added with a praying emoji to the follow-up image.

His girlfriend, former Love Island star Laura Anderson, later shared a video clip of herself by Gary's side as he appeared in hospital returning home on crutches later on Monday night (December 26). In the video Laura giggled as former Footballers Wives star Gary stood with his knee in a protective brace while on heavy pain medication.
"Happy Boxing Day. We've had a lovely time," Laura said with a laugh before the 33-year-old also asked Gary: "How are you feeling on your morphine?" Gary replied: "Yeah pretty f***ing good to be fair," before Laura starts giggling. She continued to say: "Sorry, this isn't funny," adding: "Love you," before going into kiss her new partner.
She later returned to Instagram with a series of images showing them together on Christmas before a look at the unraveling story on Boxing Day, including one of Gary's knee which appeared double the size it should be. There was also a photo of Gary back home asleep on the sofa accompanied by Laura's pet dog Buddy.
She added times to each snap, with the photo of the crashed car marked as '10am' alongside another photo of Gary in a hospital bed, tagged at 11am. She appeared to confirm that Gary was seen to and on crutches by 6pm before returning home. "The exciting life of the Luce. Always keeping me on my toes," she typed alongside the string of images.
Gary, who has four children with his ex-wife Natasha Gray, met reality star Laura when they both appeared on E4's Celebs Go Dating. The crash comes after the couple had a romantic weekend in Scotland spending Christmas Day with Laura's family in Stirling.
