Former Hearts and Albion Rovers star Ryan Stevenson has landed his first job in management after being appointed the new boss at Glenafton Athletic.
The Jambos hero signed for Rovers in March last year but departed Cliftonhill in August after an injury-hit spell saw him make just nine appearances.
And the 37-year-old sees his career take a new path as he delves into management in the West of Scotland League.
Glenafton are currently 16th in the 20-team top flight and Stevenson will be joined by assistant Mark Roberts - the former Clyde and Airdrie striker - as they aim to help the team avoid relegation.
Glenafton tweeted: “Glenafton Athletic are delighted to announce the appointment of our new management team. Our new manager is Ryan Stevenson. Ryan has enjoyed a glittering playing career with spells at Ayr United, Ipswich Town, Chelsea and Hearts of Midlothian.
“Assistant Manager Mark Roberts has a wealth of experience in football having managed Ayr United and Queens Park, and he also enjoyed a very successful playing career including spells at Ayr United and Kilmarnock. Mark also has his UEFA "A" License.
“We are delighted to have Ryan and Mark as part of our management team, and we believe this is an exciting appointment for the club.
"Both men are enthusiastic about the job, and are excited to get started.
“We are appealing for all our support to get fully behind the new management team and the players, as we look to climb up the league table and avoid the threat of relegation.
“Their first game in charge will be for the visit to Hurlford on March 5."
