Former Gogglebox star Paige Deville and her mother Sally Hayward were a huge hit on the series until their departure in 2021.
The 26-year-old and her mother were on the Channel 4 series for three seasons until she sensationally quit the show.
In October 2021, she blasted producers' lack of aftercare and revealed a deep bitter chasm between her and Sally.
Before the fallout, the Birmingham-based duo learned all the tricks and behind-the-scenes secrets of the popular show.
Families are given a contract when they join the series, which shows their rate of pay and how long they have.
Once everything is set up, they bring in the equipment to film in the living room - which they don't rearrange.
Paige revealed Gogglebox had weird rules when it came to having snacks.
To avoid any continuity errors when it comes to filming and editing, families are asked to avoid eating the snacks laid on the table.
"Sometimes there may be a doughnut or popcorn on the table to make it look homely, but you’re not necessarily going to eat it," she revealed to The Sun.
The rule applies to pillows as well as they don't want viewers wondering what happened to them if it gets moved or suddenly disappears.
However, cast member Dave Griffiths previously told new! magazine that Gogglebox offer to buy them food and drinks
" We have a sandwich or something. Gogglebox also offer us a meal, if we want one. We don’t bother with that really. We get some snacks in… like crisps, buts, chocolate," he said.
When it comes to reactions and banned words, Paige insisted the producers don't force any of them to say anything they don't want to, but they sometimes make suggestions.
Paige likened the experience to a "pantomime" as "they prep you to say things and warn you about comments that won’t make it into the show.
She provided an example, revealing: "Once Boris [Johnson] was on and I was like, ‘Oh my God, well he’s not done anything has he? What has he done for this country?’
“They were like, ‘That was never going to be aired Paige’ and wanted me to say something like, ‘Oh my God, he’s doing a great job.'"
Former castmate Sandra Martin previously discussed the long hours involved in making one episode of the show.
She previously said she would be watching eight to 12 hours worth of TV over two days: "Gogglebox is an easy job. It’s the best job ever. But it was boring at some points."
She added: "They’d come at 2pm or 4pm, set up the equipment by 6pm and by 10pm they’re out."
