Former Georgia outside linebacker Darris Smith is currently visiting Missouri, according to a report by 247Sports’ Phillip Dukes on Thursday.
Smith entered the transfer portal earlier this month as a sophomore with two years of eligibility remaining. The former four-star recruit was rated as the No. 14 edge defender and the No. 14 player in the state of Georgia coming out of Appling County High School.
Playing time was hard to come by for Smith, who appeared in five games this season before leaving the team before the matchup with Florida. Smith finished his Georgia career with 16 game appearances, recording seven tackles, a tackle for loss and a pass deflection.
Student-athletes can enter the NCAA transfer portal from Dec. 2 until Jan. 2, 2024, as well as April 15-30.
Just got word that former UGA lb Darris Smith is currently on an OV at Missouri and the Tigers have taken a huge lead in his recruitment. At 6’5, 230 pounds, Smith is one of the more athletic players in the portal with a 21.85 200m track time under his belt. @SWiltfong247
