The Cleveland Browns have decided to put former Georgia Bulldog running back Nick Chubb on the physically unable to perform list (PUP), meaning he will be out for the first four weeks. This was widely expected to happen, and now Chubb will have extra time to recover from his knee injuries.
He is still recovering from a torn ACL and MCL he suffered in Week 2 of the 2023 season against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It appeared he was doing well in the recovering process, but it seemed like a pipe dream that he would start Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys.
With this move, he’ll have more time to recover and get back to his peak form, which will be necessary with his pending free agency in 2025. Cleveland Browns fans and Bulldog fans will have to wait until at least Week 5 to see him start against the Washington Commanders, which could be a blessing for Chubb considering that Washington’s defense was ranked 26th in yards per attempt allowed last season.
