The Detroit Lions already have Sam LaPorta on the roster.
Still, with a historic NFC Championship matchup against the 49ers looming, Dan Campbell added a future Hall of Famer.

The Cardinals and tight end Zach Ertz mutually parted ways. Arizona decided to move forward with Trey McBride as the feature tight end while allowing Ertz to finish the season elsewhere.
Ertz went unclaimed, and he’s now a free agent and can sign with any team.
Ertz exited Philadelphia with 579 receptions, 6,267 yards, and 38 touchdowns, the most catches by a tight end in a single season. He’ll go down as one of the best players in franchise history, making a significant impact in the city.
He’ll now have an opportunity to win another Super Bowl, this time with Detroit.
