Cumbernauld Colts have appointed former Dundee United and Inverness right-back David Proctor as their new manager ahead of the 2022/23 season.
The East Kilbride man has been a coach at the Lowland League club but now takes over from James Orr, as he steps back from the role.
Former Dundee United and Hibs centre-back Darren Dods will work as assistant manager with brother Kevin Proctor linking up as a coach.
Orr has been in charge at the Broadwood Stadium club since 2015 and guided them to a 14th place finish in the Scottish fifth tier this season.
New boss Proctor had two spells with Inverness in his playing days alongside a stint with Dundee United. He was previously interim boss at East Kilbride after time as a player at K-Park.
The 37-year-old said: "It's bittersweet. I am delighted to be offered this opportunity but I am losing a friend and a really good coach.
"It will be strange. We need to try and fill that void that the manager is leaving. And on a football sense, we need to try and carry on the good work he's done over seven years.
"I do like being on the coaching field and talking to the boys in that sense. I am looking forward to finding my own style and how it all works. You just need to be yourself though and we'll see what happens after that.
"I know the majority of the players know and those who are already signed up know what the plan is. It's been an enjoyable year but we know we can finish higher up this league.
"I know Darren from my time at Dundee United and Inverness, so we will be able to tap into his knowledge at the top of the Scottish football. My brother is a keen coach so hopefully it's a good balance."
Orr meanwhile, speaking to club media, says it was a tough decision to step back: "Over the last season I asked David Proctor to come in and help us.
"It's became clear over the season that David aspires to be a manager, and he's ambitious enough. He plays the right way, and my work is going well, so it allows me to slow down a bit.
"It's an easy transition to pass it to someone who wants the best for Colts. Over the last year I have been thinking about it, but I'd always thought that I wanted to do it at the right time.
"If you are going to leave somewhere, you want to leave it in a better place. The way David interacts with the people here, it tells you how much he loves the place."
