Former driving instructor abused young boy when playing hide and seek as children

A former driving instructor repeatedly assaulted a boy several years his junior in the 1980s, a court has heard.

Keith Forsyth, 53, of White Cross Road, Warrington, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday after being found guilty at trial to eight charges relating to abuse which took place over several years. Because the offences took place in the 1980s, they are subject to older sexual offences laws, which carry different sentences.

He was found guilty of two counts of indecency with a child and six further counts of indecent assault of a child. Arthur Gibson, prosecuting, said that Forsyth and the complainant had known each other as children, in the 1980s.
