During halftime of the Indianapolis Colts’ Week 7 matchup with the Miami Dolphins, former tight end Dallas Clark will be inducted into the Colts’ Ring of Honor.
Clark was a first-round selection by the Colts in 2003 NFL drat out of Iowa, and played his first nine seasons with the team.
Clark, a trusted target of Peyton Manning’s, was an integral part of the passing game and a key member of their Super Bowl winning team. During that playoff run, Clark went over the 100 yard receiving mark in two game, catching 21 passes for 317 yards.
In the 2009 season, Clark was named to the Pro Bowl team and he was also an All-Pro. That year, Clark went over the 1,100 yard receiving mark while scoring eight touchdowns.
To this day, Clark is one of just eight tight ends with 100 or more receptions in a season. Among Colts’ tight ends, Clark is first in receptions, touchdowns, and is second in yards.
On Sunday, Clark will become the 19th member to join the Colts’ Ring of Honor.
“The Colts have had a long and historic tradition of record-breaking tight ends and receivers, and Dallas Clark stands alongside all these greats who have worn the Horseshoe,” Colts Owner & CEO Jim Irsay said. “In today’s game, tight ends have become so much more dynamic and important to the offensive side of the ball, and Dallas was one of the pioneers with his style of play.
“He was electrifying, tough and dependable on the field and a great teammate and person off the field. And he of course was a key piece in bringing Indianapolis its first world championship. I am so happy to welcome Dallas Clark into our Indianapolis Colts Ring of Honor.”
