Set on the shores of Bandon, Castlecove House looks like a painting amongst the scenery around it.
It has large feature arch windows that capture the scenery all year round and bring in plenty more light to the already bright home.
The listing by Sherry FitzGerald said: “The main rooms of the house take full advantage of the tremendous water views giving it a peaceful and relaxing setting, making it a wonderful place to retreat or to make your year-round home.”
There are four bedrooms in this house, with a walk-in wardrobe and en suite in the master. A door leads from this room to the patio overlooking the river.
Downstairs, there are also two more bedrooms, a bathroom, a utility room, an office and a gym. The final bedroom, a sitting room and an art studio can be found upstairs, “complete with a wood-burning stove, antique solid wood floss and a beautiful vaulted beamed ceiling”.
A conservatory attached to the house brings “the gardens into the house in such a way as to enable you to enjoy the tranquil views and sense of peace, all year round”.
The grounds of the house have complete privacy and have a raised vegetable bed, sheds, a garage and, of course, the patio.
Castlecove House is just a 30-minute walk along the river to Kinsale town and is on the market for €995,000.
The Irish Independent reported that when it was bought by artist Louise McKeon from Rory Gallagher in 184, he left his cowboy boots and his toothbrush behind.
Gallagher is known for hits such as Bad Penny, A Million Miles Away, Philby and many more. His career spanned three decades before his death in 1995 at the age of 47 following complications from a liver transplant.
