HYDERABAD: Setting up the stage for the conduct of the much-awaited elections to the Apex Council of the Hyderabad Cricket Association, Justice (retd) L Nageswara Rao on Monday appointed VS Sampath, former chief election commissioner of India, as the electoral officer.
Elections were due September last year but could not be held because of the cases pending in the Supreme Court. In February this year, Justice Rao was appointed as a single member committee by the Supreme Court to ensure that fair and proper elections were conducted to the apex council of the HCA and also to administer the affairs of the cricket body till the elections were held.
