Former Cleveland Browns fourth-round pick Perrion Winfrey suffered a potentially serious foot injury in his first game for the New York Jets this week.
Winfrey, who signed with New York a month ago, was promoted from the practice squad ahead of the Jets’ Week 13 game against the Atlanta Falcons. He was very emotional when he was carted off the field and surrounded by his teammates.

After the game, Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Winfrey was “probably done” for the season with a “pretty bad, really bad” injury. Winfrey had three combined tackles before he left the game.
The Browns drafted Winfrey in 2022 out of Oklahoma but cut him before the 2023 season after a few off-field issues. He played 13 games as a rookie in 2022 and totaled half a sack, 22 total tackles and two defended passes.
