Former Bristol City and Rovers forward Peter Beadle is stepping back into management with Yate Town.
The 49-year-old has been without work since December 2020 after he left Barnet picking up just four wins in 16 matches during a four-month stint with the National League side.
It is Beadle's sixth job in management following spells at Taunton, Newport County, Clevedon Town and also Hereford where he won three successive league titles.
Speaking of his appointment, Beadle said of becoming Yate's new manager: "I'm delighted to take the role as manager of Yate Town FC.
"They are local to me and play a part in my playing history as I've played at the ground with Bristol Rovers. I know a lot of the people involved on the football side of things and I'm looking forward to getting started.
"I hope to build on the fantastic work that Paul and Andy did here last season".
Yate Town finished the Southern League Premier South season in seventh spot. It is the seventh tier of the English football league system. Promotion would send them up to the National League South.
Beadle enjoyed a varied playing career that took him from Gillingham to Tottenham, Watford, Rovers, Port Vale, Notts County, Bristol City, Brentford and Barnet.
He signed for Tony Pulis' City in 1999 for £200,000 and scored 10 goals in 34 games in his debut season in the second division. His most notable contribution came in the Football League Trophy semi-final where he scored in both legs against Exeter to help fire his side to Wembley, only to lose 2-1 to Stoke.
Beadle did manage to lift the Football League Trophy for City in 2003, the only silverware of his career, although failed to get off the substitute bench in the final.
Yate Town said in a statement posted on their site: "Having conducted, what we feel has been a thorough application and interview process we have appointed a manager who shares in the vision and ambition of the club.
"Beadle brings with him a wealth of experience in management including a playing career which features Tottenham Hotspur, AFC Bournemouth, Watford, Bristol City & Bristol Rovers on his CV."
