Opinions on the Pittsburgh Steelers are all over the place by NFL analysts and pundits right now. Some experts think the Steelers are a sleeper team to make a deep playoff run and others don’t think they will even get there.
One analyst who thinks the Steelers will miss the playoffs is ESPN’s Bart Scott. Scott played for the Baltimore Ravens and has no love lost for Pittsburgh thinks it will be quarterback Kenny Pickett that keeps the Steelers out of the playoffs this year.
“The weak link will be their quarterback,” Scott said on ESPN.
There’s no denying this season rests on Pickett’s arm more than anything else. The Steelers front office has done a ton of work this offseason building this roster up and giving Pickett every opportunity to be successful.
While we aren’t saying Pickett will be the weak link. Quite the contrary we expect a huge jump from year one to year two for Pickett. However, if the Steelers don’t make the playoffs this year, you have to assume a big part of that will be because Pickett didn’t play well enough.
Former Raven Bart Scott on ESPN on why the Steelers will miss the playoffs:
“The weak link will be their quarterback.”
What a blowhard.
