Former B&M manager shares 'perfect' time to claim 10p bargains in store

B&M shoppers love nothing more than scouring the aisles of their local outlet, looking for bargains galore. After all, the budget retailer is known for bolstering some of the cheapest prices on highly-sought after products across the UK.

But customers may not know that there's actually a particular time of the day you should visit if they're serious about saving money. According to a former manager, staff routinely slash prices at specific times and on certain days to welcome new stock.

They sometimes even slash product prices to as little as 10p - so it might well be worth holding off on your haul until set prices have been substantially reduced. The tips and tricks have recently been revealed by Roxanne Noble, from Huddersfield - who amassed almost a decade's worth of insider knowledge in her tenure with the retailer.

The Mirror reports that joining as a cashier and working her way up to a deputy manager role, Roxanne sponged an abundance of information throughout her career - and has now revealed all to savvy shoppers and bargain hunters alike. Speaking to Fabulous, she said: "If the company wanted rid of something to make room for new stock they'd discount things to 10p.

"It'd be anything and everything including £30 bedding sets, curtains, rugs etc. They do price changes every Monday to Thursday, but the main one was on a Wednesday when they'd do quite a lot at once and they'd drop the prices to 10p."

According to Roxanne, B&M's paint stock came from the likes of Dulux and Johnstone's - and it wasn't an unusual occurrence to see branded paint knocked back from £25 to a fiver. Elsewhere, bedding and other furnishings for around the home were often reduced, with Roxy saying she once snapped up £40 curtains for a quid.

And that's not all...the former manager also detailed how staff got the pick of the bunch when it came to reduced-price items, as well as receiving a generous 10 per cent staff discount for their endeavours. This sometimes rose to 20 per cent for special occasions, such as Christmas.

Thanks to her keen eye for a bargain and savvy shopping know-how, she managed to decorate her home without splurging much more than £5. And she's not the only punter who saw great results with regards to the superstore's bargains either.

Emily Gardner, of Heckmondwike in West Yorkshire, managed to transform her kitchen on a tight budget when visiting the retailer. Instead of splashing the cash on tiles and hiring someone to fit them, she bought chic-stick ons from B&M for £10 per pack of five.

She finished off her project with some vinyl stickers from B&Q, which respectively cost £5.50 per 2m roll. The total cost only set her back £130. Not bad!
