Former Arsenal player Thomas Partey is facing a further two counts of rape in addition to previous charges.

The midfielder, 32, has already been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault in connection to alleged incidents involving three women in 2021 and 2022.

On Wednesday, the Crown Prosecution Service moved ahead with additional charges relating to an alleged incident involving another woman in 2020.

The latest charges follow an investigation by the Metropolitan Police after the alleged offences were reported last August.

Partey will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on March 13 to face the new charges.

He previously pleaded not guilty to the other six charges and was granted conditional bail at Southwark Crown Court in September.

The Ghanaian international is set to face trail on November 2.

The six initial charges are alleged to have taken place while he was a player at Arsenal.

He left the club at the end of June and was charged four days after.

Partey’s defence lawyer Jenny Wiltshire previously said: “Thomas Partey denies all the charges against him.

“He has fully cooperated with the police and CPS throughout their three-year investigation. He now welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name.

“Given that there are now ongoing legal proceedings, my client is unable to comment further”
