According to the police, Bosmiya's body was discovered on Sunday evening at Agaman Residency near Gondal Chowkdi. Following the incident, Rajkot Taluka Police registered a case of accidental death under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Bosmiya, a resident of Navagadh village in Jetpur taluka, was employed as a medical representative and had been residing in Rajkot for some time. Family members stated that she was in a live-in relationship with Aslam Sama, a resident of Junagadh.
Her father, Anand Bosmiya, alleged that Sama, who is married, had been living with Nandani and that the couple frequently argued. The family further claimed that Sama had physically assaulted her on multiple occasions during their relationship.
According to relatives, a serious dispute took place between the couple two days before the incident. Following the argument, Nandani temporarily stayed with a man she regarded as her brother before returning to the apartment she shared with Sama.
Concern grew among family members on the day of her death when repeated attempts to contact her by phone went unanswered. An acquaintance was subsequently sent to check on her and reportedly found her hanging inside the flat.
The family has questioned the circumstances of the death, citing what they describe as suspicious conditions at the scene. They alleged that the apartment's main door was only latched from the inside, while the rear balcony door was found open, raising concerns about the possibility of foul play.
Relatives also alleged that Sama continued to maintain contact with and visit his wife despite his relationship with Nandani, a situation they claim frequently led to tensions and disagreements between the couple.
Police officials said a forensic postmortem examination has been ordered and that investigators are examining all possible angles. Authorities added that any further legal action will depend on the findings of the postmortem report, forensic evidence, and the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
Apart from her professional career, Bosmiya was also active in local politics. In 2025, she contested the Jetpur-Navagadh municipal elections as a candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not ruled out any possibility pending the completion of forensic and medical examinations.
