A forgotten city centre tunnel remains beneath our feet - but there are remaining artefacts which remind us it's still there.
One of those relics is a hexagonal tower which stands proud in Crown Street Park in Toxteth. Surrounded by greenery and footpaths, walkers may find themselves asking what exactly it is and what it was used for.
Demolition work in Chinatown back in 2017 also exposed another red brick and sandstone tower, complete with historic arches. People may have also noticed it matched another tower tucked away in Blackburne Place in the Georgian Quarter.
