An investigation is under way at a nature park in Gateshead following an incident which took place overnight.
Officers from Northumbria Police have been in attendance on the Springwell Estate on Tuesday morning following an incident the previous night.
It is believed police have been on the scene since at least 9.30pm on Monday. The reason for their presence remains unknown currently.

A police cordon was put in place at Whitehills Nature Park which is currently closed to members of the public while the investigations continue.
Access to the park has been restricted by the police who have taped off the entrances.
The extensive cordon spans a significant section of the nature park with police officers seen surveying the area in large groups with the forensics team arriving just prior to 11am this morning.
Multiple police vehicles have also been pictured present on residential street Aycliffe Crescent in the area.
The reasons for the closure are still unknown as yet. Northumbria Police and the North East Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
