A Paisley flat remained sealed off throughout Tuesday as forensic police officers were called in to investigate a death.
The body of a 53-year-old man was found within a flat at George Street on Tuesday, sparking a police investigation and the closure of the entire building.
Police have described the man’s death as “unexplained”.
Forensic officers could be seen scouring the close for clues as to how the man died as the block of flats remained cordoned off on Tuesday morning.
They could be seen searching the close with specialist torches and removing items from the flat in clear bags.
Uniformed officers were, meanwhile, stationed on every floor of the three-storey building as their investigation continued.
The Paisley Daily Express has been told by police that there is no wider danger to the public.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.30am on Tuesday, December 20 police were made aware of the sudden death of a 53-year-old man at a property on George Street, Paisley.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
