The sun beats down mercilessly on the Barmer–Batadu road in Rajasthan. During the peak summer months, temperatures easily cross a grueling 45°C, turning the highway into a shimmering, heat-soaked stretch of asphalt. For laborers, truck drivers, and families traveling by bus, finding a moment of cool relief in this barren landscape can feel next to impossible.
Yet, right in the middle of this harsh environment stands 77-year-old Thana Ram Kadwasara. Beside him sits a collection of bottles and containers filled with clean, refreshing water.
