A football-mad schoolboy who was killed after being hit by a car has been named for the first time, with his devastated family paying tribute.

The family of Charlie Lowe, 10, had their world torn apart after the youngster was hit by a Ford Puma at around 4.30pm on Thursday in Walton.

Charlie died in hospital the following day and his heartbroken family have released a tribute to him, describing the Liverpool fanatic as an "amazing and loved" young boy, the ECHO reports.
