Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders needed all of one game to become the talk of the college football world, as the junior turned in a record-setting effort in a win over No. 17 TCU on Saturday.
Sanders, in his first FBS game, recorded a school-record 510 passing yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions in a 45–42 road victory, a statement game that not only impressed fans but drew the attention of a couple legendary quarterbacks and other prominent former players.
Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes and NFL Hall of Famer Brett Favre were among the NFL legends praising Sanders’s monster debut and future under his father and first-year Colorado coach Deion Sanders.
“Crazy to see what Deion and Colorado has done already,” posted an excited Mahomes with two muscle emojis.

Favre’s co-sign of Sanders took the praise a step further as the three-time NFL MVP chose the rising star as his early pick for the 2023 Heisman Trophy.
Favre wrote, “The Colorado Buffs are back!! Deion is a legit coach and mentor to his players!! Shedeur is an elite QB and my early Heisman winner!!”

Needless to say, if Sanders keeps up his pace, it’ll only be a matter of time before the 21-year-old becomes a household name in what looks like a promising season.
Based on the endorsements after his first game, though, Sanders has already proved to at least a few of the game’s greats that he has what to takes to be considered “primetime” just like his Hall of Fame dad.
It cannot be overstated what Deion Sanders did today.

To turn the whole Colorado program around from what it was last season to today beating a team that played in the National Championship last season…
It’s one thing to talk about it.
It’s another to actually do it.
Wow.
What an introduction to the College football world @ShedeurSanders!! You are who your father said you were. Love it. Shine on young brother.
