Football club pays tribute to boy who died after getting into difficulty in lake

A football club has paid tribute to their “hugely popular” 15-year-old player, who died after he “got into difficulty” in a lake in a park in south-east London.

Izaiah Smith was pulled from the lake in Beckenham Place Park, Lewisham, at 10.42pm on Friday, more than seven hours after police began searching for him.
