Square Enix announced that FOAMSTARS is releasing worldwide this February 6. This online 4v4 foam party shooter is going to be available exclusively for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. To get access to as many players as possible, the game is set to be part of the PlayStation Plus monthly game line-up from its release until March 4. This means subscribers can join the foam part at no extra cost.
Players able to redeem the game during the period mentioned get to keep it in their personal PlayStation Plus library and can continue to play it as long as they are subscribed to the service. Then on March 5, the game is going to be available for $29.99 through the PlayStation Store and needs a PlayStation Plus subscription.
Free Updates
PlayStation players are truly in for a treat considering that the game is expected to get themed seasonal updates for free over a period of one year. With seasons, players can look forward to new experiences which include cosmetics, playable characters, maps, and even game modes. Each season comes with a Premium Season Pass worth $5.99. While optional, those who do buy this pass get to immediately unlock Season Pass characters and can even extra season-specific cosmetics.
Multiplayer Gameplay Mode
At launch, the game is set to offer three PvP multiplayer gameplay modes which are Star, Happy Bath Survival, and Rubber Duck Party. Each mode features three maps which have been designed to make sure that the gameplay experience is intensified while at the same time being able to deliver that fun, original, and strategic experience with each match. By the way, maps are randomized for matchmaking to give it that added challenge.
Solo and Team
It's not all PvP as the game also introduces Foamstar where players try and protect Bath Vegas from a series of randomized encounters. Squad Missions meanwhile give then the chance to learn more about the athletes in the roster while also honing their skills and being able to play with friends.
There are also going to be different in-game Challenges where players can obtain exciting rewards These include a new playable character, or even experience bonuses.
