Floyd Mayweather urged to pay Logan Paul for exhibition fight by his own uncle

Floyd Mayweather has been urged by his uncle Jeff to pay Logan Paul for their exhibition fight last June after the YouTube star claimed he hadn't received full payment.

Mayweather fought in the second exhibition of his career last year against social media sensation Paul, with the fight having sold around one million pay-per-views. Paul hit out at Mayweather months after the bout claiming that he hadn't been paid in full for the fight which took place last June.

The boxing legend's uncle Jeff has admitted he doesn't know what is going on with the payment situation but expects it to be resolved in the coming months. “I mean, he [Logan Paul] should get paid," Mayweather's uncle Jeff told ‘Fred Talks Fighting’. "The fight’s been over, it’s been a while. So, I mean Logan do deserve to get paid. He was there.

“I don’t know what’s going on with that. So, I’m not really going to speak on it. That really has nothing to do with me." Mayweather's bout with Paul ended with no result and the YouTube star celebrated at the final bell after surviving the eight round distance.

Paul claimed his ring rival had not paid him properly for the fight, blasting him as a "rat" during a furious rant. The YouTuber later doubled down on his accusation confirming he will be taking legal action against Mayweather over the alleged failed payment.

Paul was expected to bank around $15million for the bumper event with Mayweather earning over four times the amount with a purse of $65 million. Mayweather admitted that the receiving of payment takes time after professional fights when responding to the claims. “This comes with the territory,” Mayweather told the The Pivot Podcast . "To them, that’s real money, and I like the YouTubers.

"The money on the back end though, from pay-per-view, that takes a while. Nothing comes right away. I’m still collecting cheques from fights seven or eight years ago. They just hate when the table is turned. Be happy with the biggest payday you ever got in your life."

Mayweather has since announced his third exhibition outing that will take place atop a helipad on the plush Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai, He has already been paid $1m to turn up at the press conference with his fresh opponent Don Moore, and has claimed he could receive up to $100m for his latest event.

Tickets for the event have been sold at around £150,000 for the event, with just 20 on sale to be ringside at the exclusive event which will also feature UFC legend Anderson Silva. Mayweather has been forced to react to criticism over the level of his opponent with Moore having only fought opponents with losing records during his own boxing career.
