Floyd Mayweather closing in on ring return after postponement of Money Kicks fight

Floyd Mayweather is planning to return to the ring in May after his exhibition with Money Kicks was postponed.

The American star was set to go head-to-head with the social media sensation - real name Reshad Belhasa - on February 20, but the fight collapsed at the 11th hour with talks breaking down. The exhibition bout was set to be Mayweather's third and was earmarked to take place on a helipad on top of the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai.

Mayweather's coach Gerald Tucker has now claimed that Mayweather's style remains pleasing to fans and he will continue to search for opportunities while the interest remains. "I can't say for certain, but I believe a new opponent end of May," Tucker told Boxing King Media. "I'm a huge Floyd fan myself and I would love to see him in the boxing ring, risking his record again.

"Because so many people like me love his style, would love to see him get in the ring, see what he's going to wear, see how he's going to perform. I know I'm not the only one, so I hope he does. But there's no telling."

Mayweather has already staged two hugely successful exhibitions since retiring from professional fighting. He defeated Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa, before facing YouTube star Logan Paul in June last year which sold over one million pay-per-views despite finishing with no definite result.

The 45-year-old had announced his next planned ring return earlier this year on a press conference from media atop the iconic planned venue in the Middle East. It remains unlikely that he will ever risk his perfect 50-0 professional record in the sport again, after stopping Conor McGregor in a huge crossover event back in 2017.

also confirmed he would like to face Mayweather in an exhibition bout if an event could be organised.

Despite facing question marks about any further ring exploits, Mayweather's sparring partner J'Hon Ingram confirmed the retired star was still training like he was a 20-year-old rising star. "He is faster than Tank (Gervonta Davis) I can tell you that right now," Ingram told Fight Hype. "Tank's is fast but still not as fast as Floyd.

"On their jab they might be equal but Floyd switches his jab up so much so Tank is still not as fast as Floyd. I did land on him, I had to throw combinations to land I couldn't throw any single punches, honestly like four or five. He definitely still lives up to his name. I was thinking because he is a little older now that I would be able to push him. But he still moves like he is 20. He punches like he is still in his 20's. His awareness and reactions are still like he is in his 20's."

Several opponents have emerged in recent months with Julio Cesar Chavez putting his name forward for a rematch exhibition, before being dismissed by the American over health concerns. British star Kell Brook
