Flowers and memories: Fans pay tribute to Dolly Parton

Fans gathered in Nashville on Tuesday, 25 August, to leave flowers at a mural honouring Dolly Parton and remember the country music legend's deep connection to Tennessee.

Footage shows flowers being placed in front of the mural as people pay their respects to the singer and songwriter.

Parton's music has remained closely linked to memories of home for generations of listeners. Those gathered recalled songs including 'Tennessee Mountain Home', 'Light on a Clear Blue Morning' and 'Little Sparrow', while also remembering her humour and generosity.

Her Imagination Library, which promotes children's literacy, was also praised. In Nashville, the tributes reflect the lasting place Parton holds in Tennessee's cultural life and beyond.
