Florida woman was deemed ineligible by Epstein estate for compensation. Then she used the rejection to con $750,000

Jennifer Percival just confessed to committing fraud to extract hundreds of thousands of dollars from a fund intended for victims of Jeffrey Epstein. The Florida resident pleaded guilty to one count of fraud by wire, radio, or television in a federal court in New York. Her sentencing date has not been set yet, but the case highlights a major breach of trust involving a fund designed to provide some measure of justice for those affected by a notorious criminal.

PEOPLE reported that Percival admitted during her plea hearing that she initially applied to the Epstein Victims’ Compensation Fund in 2020. This fund was established by the estate of the disgraced financier to address the suffering of his victims. However, the estate determined she was ineligible for compensation. While she was rejected at that time, court records seen by The Guardian didn’t specify a reason for her initial rejection.
