Gainesville police charged three men with sexual cyber-harassment in August, according to WIRED. One of them, 19-year-old Kamran Ahmed, also faces a third-degree felony charge for sexually cyber-harassing for financial gain. Police linked Ahmed, Brendan Pitfield and Jacob Gomberg to anonymous sports “burner” accounts on X. Pitfield has pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor charge.
