GAINESVILLE, Fla. — University of Florida redshirt freshman quarterback Jalen Kitna was ordered to be held on an $80,000 bond Thursday, a day after he was arrested on five charges related to child pornography that included an image of a prepubescent female and adult male.
Eighth Judicial Circuit Judge Meshon T. Rawls also denied Kitna internet access and unsupervised contact with minors under the age of 18.
Kitna’s first appearance from Alachua County Jail was shown on a closed-circuit video feed at the county courthouse, where lawyers debated his bond amount and conditions of release. He stood for 75 minutes visibly distraught. Kitna alternately bowed his head with clenched fists before him, placed his head in his hands, running his fingers through his hair or stood staring wide-eyed into the camera.
