A Florida man, Michael Martin Wiseman, was arrested on Friday after making threats on social media towards former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance, as reported by the Jupiter Police Department. Wiseman was also accused of threatening the families of Trump and Vance with bodily harm.
The threats made by Wiseman were brought to the attention of the police by concerned residents who reported them in person and through online crime tips. Following an investigation into Wiseman's Facebook account, law enforcement agencies took him into custody without incident.
The Jupiter police worked in collaboration with the US Secret Service and the Palm Beach County state attorney’s office during the investigation. Wiseman has been charged with writing threats to kill or injure and appeared in court on Saturday morning. His next court date is scheduled for August 19.
Wiseman is currently being held without bond at the Palm Beach County Main Detention Center, according to records from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
