Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is gearing up for the 2028 open presidential primary by focusing on immigration, a key issue for former President Donald Trump's supporters. However, DeSantis is encountering resistance from his own state's Republicans who believe they understand Trump better.

DeSantis recently called for a special legislative session to push through border-related proposals, but lawmakers swiftly rejected his ideas and introduced their own bill, known as the TRUMP Act, which significantly reduces DeSantis' authority on immigration enforcement.
