Florida is asking a state judge to order Meta to verify users' ages, remove Floridians under 14 from Instagram and Facebook, and lock teens out of nearly every app feature between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. Attorney General James Uthmeier made the request in an 85-page motion for a temporary injunction filed Oct. 7 in Pasco County Circuit Court.
If granted, the changes would take effect while the case continues, not after a trial. That makes the request one of the most direct attempts yet to reshape how Florida teens use social media, from bedtime habits to daily screen limits.
