Florida Allows Kentucky TD Run Despite Having 13 Men on Field

Kentucky, which is in the midst of blowing out No. 22 Florida on Saturday, displayed offensive domination on one particular play in the second half.

At the 10:55 mark of the third quarter, the Wildcats faced first-and-goal from the Florida 2-yard line.

Despite Florida playing with 13 men on defense, the Gators were unable to stop Kentucky running back Ray Davis from extending the Wildcats’ lead to 30-7.

Davis is the first SEC player to record at least 250 yards and four touchdowns from scrimmage in a game since 2019, according to ESPN Stats & Info. (That instance also was a Kentucky player, Lynn Bowden Jr., who accomplished the feat against Louisville).

Florida’s inability to stop Davis with two extra defensive players elicited myriad witty responses on social media.

Davis went on to amass 280 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries as the Wildcats beat the Gators, 33-14, at Kroger Field in Lexington.
