Florence Pugh reveals she declines roles if there’s ‘someone better’ to play them

• Actor Florence Pugh has revealed that she nobly “gives characters back” if she thinks there’s “someone better” to play them.
• “I’m a firm believer in: you can love the script, you can love the movie or TV series, or whatever it is, but we all know if we should do a role or not; we can feel it – I know we can feel it,” she told The Independent .
• The 30-year-old star makes her return to television leading Netflix 's new adaptation of John Steinbeck 's classic novel East of Eden, in which she plays Cathy.
• Created by Zoe Kazan, the series follows two brothers, played by Christopher Abbott and Mike Faist, whose lives are altered by Cathy's arrival.
• East of Eden is scheduled for release on Netflix on Thursday 1 October.
