Directed by Jake Schreier and penned by Eric Pearson and Lee Sung Jin, Thunderbolts will center on a group of heroes and antiheroes, including Bucky Barnes, Ghost, U.S. Agent, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, and Taskmaster. Lewis Pullman has been cast as Sentry, a character with dual hero and villain personas.
Wyatt Russell, known for his role in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, has teased Thunderbolts as a departure from traditional Marvel movies, promising a unique and engaging experience for fans. He emphasized the need to work hard and deliver a quality Marvel film that stands out in the franchise.
Thunderbolts is slated for release in the United States on May 2, 2025, marking the culmination of Phase Five in the MCU. Fans can anticipate an exciting and fresh take on the superhero genre with this upcoming installment.
