A flood warning has been issued this morning for Ayr, Troon and Barassie.
The Scottish Environnment Protection Agency (SEPA) say that a combination of high tides and prevailing weather conditions means that flooding from the sea “is expected” later today.
SEPA expect the inclement conditions to affect low lying land, roads and properties along the coastline from Ayr, Troon and Barassie.
And wave ‘overtopping’ is expected to affect low lying parts of Prestwick and Troon.
These flooding impacts are expected around the time of high tide- between 2.30pm and 5.30pm today.
A SEPA spokesperson said: “Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.”

It comes as a Met Office snow and ice warning remains in place for today.
The yellow warning starts at 5pm and will last until 11am tomorrow.
Forecasters from the Met Office say: "Cold air spreading southwards across the UK, following a band of rain, sleet and snow, will bring frequent snow showers to northern, western, and eastern Scotland, as well as parts of Northern Ireland.
"Overnight, these will accumulate on some roads and pavements, with anywhere between a light dusting and several cm of snow possible. Between the showers, partially melted snow is likely to freeze on untreated surfaces leading to icy stretches.
"Wintry showers will continue through Tuesday, although by mid-morning the temperature on most roads will likely have risen sufficiently to reduce the risk of further accumulating snow or ice."
