Surveillance technology firm Flock Safety announced platform modifications on Thursday, aiming to ease privacy concerns and address documented abuses by law enforcement officers, following mounting pressure from lawmakers, civil liberties groups, and citizens nationwide.
The company operates an extensive national network of automated cameras that record vehicle license plates and distinguishing details every day. Thousands of police agencies across 49 states can search and share this data across jurisdictions during active investigations.
