A flight attendant has urged travellers to think twice about using toilet roll when on planes.
The bathroom experience on most commercial jets is one the majority of us would like to forget for a multitude of reasons.
Now TikToker Cierra Mistt, who shares videos about her life working onboard planes, has added another hang up to add to the list.
In a recent video on TikTok, Cierra warned against the low quality of toilet tissue and how it has a tendency to fall apart at the wrong moment.
She said: "When you go to the bathroom on a plane, don't use the toilet paper. Instead use the paper towels because it's higher quality and it won't rip or dissolve like the toilet paper will."
She went on to urge passengers always to wear shoes when they go to the toilet due to the state of the floor.
While this may seem like obvious advice, Cierra said that many people go in shoe and even sockless.
Fellow TikTok video maker flightbae.b offered another unpleasant word of warning about using toilet paper at 30,000 feet.
She said: “Use the tissue paper as opposed to the toilet paper. When turbulence hits and little boys who are pointing and shooting, they kind of shoot everywhere.
“That usually ends up on the toilet paper so if you don’t want that kind of stuff in your nether regions, use the tissue paper."
Recently a plane passenger had an award plane toilet experience and found themselves condemned for using the loo too many times while on a flight.
The under-fire holidaymaker was aboard a three hour flight and, having read that some people get more dehydrated while in the air, packed two 1.1 litre bottles of water.
They settled into their middle seat but over the course of the flight they ended up having to go to the bathroom four times, averaging one trip every 45 minutes.
This meant having to ask the passenger in the aisle seat to move repeatedly - and it became an issue.
They explained on Reddit that a confrontation ensued, writing: "When I used the bathroom for the third time, she asked me if I could try to hold it for the remainder of the flight so she could sleep."
The thirsty passenger said they "did not take her request too seriously" and continued drinking away - only to need the loo again.
"When I got up for the fourth time, she told me I was rude for not following her request," they continued.
"I told her it was either that, dehydrate, or wet myself and going to the bathroom seemed like the best option.
"She told me no one needs to drink enough to pee four times in less than three hours unless they have a bladder issue.
"She then asked me if I had a bladder issue and I said 'No, not that that’s your business'.
"I asked if she wanted to switch seats so I didn't have to climb over her, but she refused."
The reaction on Reddit saw most people siding with the disgruntled passenger in the aisle seat, especially as it was a short-haul flight.
