Flight attendant shares bottle hack to help holidaymakers 'stay safe' in hotels

Hotel rooms are designed to give visitors a pleasant, comfortable and convenient stay.

However, it's hard to feel totally at ease in an unknown room where people may be able to gain access without your knowledge. With that in mind, flight attendant Esther has shared a clever way to "check that no one is under the bed" without having to look, reports the Express.

She shared the tip to her popular TikTok page, where she posts under the username @esthersturrus to her 158,000 followers.

The travel ace suggested that people should simply "throw a bottle under it" and wait for the bottle "to come out on the other side".

If it doesn't, it means that there could be someone hiding underneath the bed, according to the KLM flight attendant.

While safety is a priority, Esther also shared other useful tips which can make travellers' lives easier when staying at a hotel.

"Does your cardboard cup also tip over in the bathroom when placing the toothbrush in it?" the flight attendant asked. "Put it the other way around and poke your toothbrush through it! Washbasins are not hygienic."

She went on: "Your clothes are creased? Hang your clothes in the bathroom while showering! Dry wash it and it's like new again!"

The expert also recommended putting your phone in an empty mug so that it can be used as a speaker and using a hairdryer to get rid of steam on your mirror.

The flight attendant's clip received 227,000 views as well as thousands of likes. Some users took to the comments to share their thoughts.

"Super useful tips! Thank you," wrote one user, while another commented: "Flight Attendants are the real MVPs!"

A third user shared a hack of their own, saying: "I put the TV remotes in bags because there is no way housekeeping washes them."
