Fleur East is planning a major music comeback – and she’s tapped up chart superstar David Guetta for help.
The 34-year-old former X Factor contestant burst onto the music scene in 2015 when she released a single titled Sax following her turn on the since cancelled ITV talent show.
Her debut album, released that same year, charted at number 14 on the UK charts – but her follow up album, Fearless, flopped.
She has since reinvented herself as something of an actress and a radio host, as she has hosted Hits Radio since 2019 - alongside fellow host James Barr.
Fleur revealed to The Sun that she is now planning an exciting return to music – with superstar DJ David set to help her out.
She said: “I’ve interviewed David on Hits Radio a few times and my co-host James Barr dropped me in it and went, ‘David, Fleur can sing.’
“He went: ‘Can you DM me?’ and I sent him my Spotify. He came back to me and he was like, ‘Oh my God, I didn’t realise that was you? That’s crazy.’
"He said it would be great to collaborate. We’ve kept in touch so watch this space.”
David has enjoyed recent chart success in the UK by teaming up with reality competition stars.
Last year he had a number three hit titled Remember with former The Voice contestant Becky Hill.
He then hit number eight earlier this year with a song called Crazy What Love Can Do alongside Becky and former X Factor contestant Ella Henderson.
Fleur has been keeping herself bust away from the music world – and surprised fans last year when she popped up in an episode of the hit Apple TV+ comedy series Ted Lasso.
The singer featured as the host of a Love Island style series called Lust Conquers All which saw Richmond FC player Jamie Tartt, played by Phil Dunster, trying to find love away from the pitch.
Fleur’s character was called Jaylah Vivienne and she was shown giving Jamie his marching orders after he was voted off the show.
The singer has previously explained that she hopes to land more acting roles in the near future.
She told The Mirror back in May: "I've started doing a bit of acting, I'm in a musical film that's coming out this year called 'Tomorrow morning'
"I did a little a guest slot in Ted Lasso - where I played a presenter in their version of Love Island - so I'd love to do more acting.”
When asked what her dream role would be, Fleur was quick to reveal her future dream cameos.
She“said: “Sex Education or Bridgerton, that would be amazing. I would absolutely love that."
